After the shot the race was immediately inflamed with Africans to impose frantic pace. I did manage to start around the sixtieth position and I reinstalled almost to the end, coming 35th. A Team Italy managed to win thanks to the placings of Abate (11), De Gasperi (17), B. Dematteis (24) and Toninelli (25), the bronze medal (behind Eritrea and stunning U.S.).
